Prayers for the help of God - November, 2024

No man is totally self sustaining. At some points in our lives we would all need the help of others whether they are older or younger, stronger or weaker, richer or poorer, more or less educated , more or less religious, of similar or different race and much more. 

God is ever in the business of connecting believers to their helpers because he uses men as helpers in different seasons of our lives. He guides, leads and spurs men to help each other. It is a man that is helped by God that receives help from fellow men. The heart of man is desperately wicked, but God uses men despite their wickedness. He tenderizes the heart of men towards each other to cause them to help. The heart of kings is in the hands of the Lord, and as a river, he turns it wherever he wills. May the Lord conncet us to our helpers in Jesus name.

Why many believers are helpless

1. They are seeking for the help their life doesn’t need.
2. They are seeking vengeance instead of help
3. The help they require is opposed by the enemy
4. Their helpers gave up when the help became too demanding
5. The help they received was short lived 
6. The helper did not receive them in the name of the Lord 
7. The helper is not God-ordained
8. They lack faith 
9. They had faith initially and switched to doubt midway to receiving their miracle 

Bible verses about the help of God

Here are Bible verses about God’s help, each with a brief description of the kind of help God provides:

Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

God provides constant support and protection during difficult times.

Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

God offers reassurance and strength to overcome fear and hardship.

Psalm 121:2 – “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

God, the Creator, is our ultimate source of help in all things.

Psalm 34:17 – “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”

God hears our cries and delivers us from life’s struggles.

Hebrews 13:6 – “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’”

God’s help removes fear and assures protection from harm.

Psalm 54:4 – “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.”

God sustains and supports us through all seasons of life.

Psalm 118:7 – “The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.”

God empowers us to overcome adversity and find victory.

Isaiah 50:7 – “Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.”

God helps us maintain our integrity and dignity.

Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God’s help is constant, giving courage and ensuring His presence.

2 Corinthians 12:9 – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”

God provides help through His grace, especially in our weaknesses.

These verses reveal the multifaceted nature of God’s help, from providing strength and courage to offering peace, grace, and deliverance.

Prayer points for God’s help

Thank you Lord for being my all season and tireless helper. 

Thank you lord for unsolicited and solicited help. Thank you lord for undeserved help and your continuous flow of mercy

Lord Jesus please forgive me for all acts of wickedness. 

Lord Jesus please Forgive me for turning away when I ought to be a helper. 

Holyspirit work on my heart to yield whenever you need me to be a helper in Jesus name

Lord Jesus release the help my life needs. (What your life needs might not be what you seek). The help Joseph needed was a recommendation before the king. A present day Christian might actually br praying for vengeance on everyone who had a hand in his oppression- his brothers and Potiphar’s wife. 

Lord send me helpers that nothing can hinder or deter. When the butler recommended Joseph to the king, there was no objection or refusal

Lord send me helpers that will stop at nothing to help me. The 4 friends of the paralyzed man stopped at nothing. When they realized the room where Jesus was was crowded, they broke the roof to get their friend to see Jesus and re eve his healing

Lord send me helpers that will take care of now and the future The shunnamite woman offered prophet Elijah a room in their house for every time he visited for his ministerial activities

Lord send me helpers that will honour your word for this very season in my life. There was famine in the land and  Elijah needed food. The Lord sent him to where his sustenance was, which was where the wiidow was at the city gate. She was going to hesitant when he first made the request, but later conceded to God’s instruction on the lips of Elijah.

Lord make me a helper to my helpers. No one is totally helpless. If Joseph, a prisoner was still able to offer dream interpretation as a help to the baker and butler, we all still have something we can do to help others no matter how small. He helped the butler and baker and the butler in turn recommended him to the king .

Lord help me to not be silent before my helpers. The Bible says when we open out mouth, he will fill it. The help of God is sometimes lost when the needy refuses to.open their mouth to ask. Blind Bartimaeus did not allow those who tried shutting him up to make him miss his helper. He shouted even more till he caught the attention of Jesus. 

Lord help my faith so I can receive timely help like the centurion. Do not like unbelief be my undoing. 

Lord help me to be rightly positioned to receive timely and divine help

Lord help me to recognize your help and not dismiss it with pessimism or pride in Jesus name

As I am helped by you lord, help me to be grateful and to also help others in Jesus name
