Devotional : Be courageous

Bible Reading
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Beloved, if you desire to walk and constantly experience the supernatural in the year 2023, you must resolve to act courageously on every promise and Word of God. Do you know that anywhere God sees courage and total dependence on Him, divine intervention becomes inevitable?
1 Sam 17: 42-51
42 He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. 43 He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” 45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. 50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran.
Psalm 91:14-15 - “Because he[a] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.
When God saw the courage and resolve of the three Hebrew men to stand on His Word, heaven had no choice but to prove to the world that He is the One that ruleth in the affairs of men. Even when they were threatened with fear, they refused to be afraid because they knew that their heavenly Father was too faithful to fail them.
1 Thes 5:24 -24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
Dan 3:17,18,25 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” 25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
It does not matter what you must have been going through, your heavenly Father sees and knows every detail happening around you for He is the One that rules in the affairs of men. In order for you and I to grow and mature and be perfect, there are challenges He will allow our way with provision for a way of escape. 1 Cor 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Dan 4:17 The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.’
Are you discouraged or on the verge of seeking alternatives? God is encouraging you not to be afraid because God is with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.

Prayer
I pray for grace and strength to walk by faith and always act courageously on every promise and Word of God in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
