The past can be a hindrance to the glorious present and future God has for his children if they refuse to wage war against powers that are averse to new beginnings and God-glorifying lives.
God can, and wants to do new things
Isaiah 43:18-19 says Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
A child of God must be convinced that God can, and God wants to give us new beginnings that can make us forget the things of old. You know this verse. Do you believe you qualify for new beginnings that can make you forget the pains and sorrow of the past?
Ignorance offers no protection.
Hosea 4:6 says My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
This means as God’s people, it is our responsibility to seek knowledge, embrace it and effectively apply it to avoid destruction. The scariest part of this verse is that it is possible for God’s people to perish. That will not be you or me in Jesus name. When we seek, embrace and apply the knowledge of God’s word, we are accepted by God and our children become recipients of the same grace if they also walk in the same path.
All that is in God is for his children. The prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God. Make a firm decision to surrender your life to Christ today. It is the most important decision anyone can make in a lifetime.Say this prayer to become a member of God’s family

God of all flesh, help me overcome all battles of life regardless of how old, close, or deeply rooted they might be in my life.
