As mothers, our journeys are often fraught with challenges that test our faith and strength. The multi-functional nature of motherhood can be emotionally, psychologically, physically, mentally, socially and financially demanding as family size and responsibilities increase. Mothers need the help of God to be all they are called to be in their homes, careers, businesses, ministries and the society. God’s word provides us with timeless wisdom and warnings to navigate these trials with grace and faith.

Let’s explore these warnings together as Pastor Dolapo Adelakun of Victory International Church, Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria shares 5 warnings from God to mothers.

WARNINGS FROM GOD TO MOTHERS

1. DO NOT WORRY
   If God says you should not worry over anything, do you think He is joking? He says, pray and thank him for answered prayers. If you won’t take this simple instruction, you will find yourself in pepper soup. Worry is a symptom of prayerlessness. Worry won’t add to your height, so why worry. Worry will abort your desired miracles, why take such a risk?
   The creator and omnipotent One says you should not worry. Your being is continually before him. Cast all your worries before him and he will take care of them one after the other. Relax! God is in control. Stop worrying over the children. They are not yours. Hand them over to the God who owns them and rejoice regularly over them. Give thanks to God for them whether they are doing well or not. Everything you hand over to God ends up turning to a testimony.

2. Do not Fear -Fear is a platform for defeat. It is the Devils strongest weapon. It is a negative spirit. Fear is always out to take your focus away from God. Study the word of God daily and faith will rise in you. You cannot do any meaningful thing with fear in your heart. Build up your faith in God and fear will exit your life. A preacher said, FEAR means False Evidence Appearing Real. Don’t let fear take your life. It is a killer. Do not die before your time. Fear not! It shall be well with your children. The most troublesome one today will end up great in Jesus name.

1. ENJOY YOUR LIFE.
   Jesus said, I came to give you life in abundance. God wants you to enjoy your life. Many do not know what it means to enjoy life. They think clubbing about drinking, smoking and womanising is enjoying life. That is far from it. TRUE LIFE IS A LIFE FREE OF SIN, SICKNESS AND POVERTY. If these 3 are still present in your life, you are not enjoying life. If you do not have a hope of eternal life, you are far from enjoying life. God wants you to bind and it is bound. God wants you to decree a thing and it will be established. God wants you to have dominion over all the works of the enemy. This is true life. Enjoy every benefit and blessing of God. Live for God and not for children. If you allow your children to take the place of God, life will be turbulent for you but if you honour God above your children, life will be sweet. Do not allow any child to steal your peace. If you die because of a child, the same child will kill the fattest cow at your burial. You better wise up. Don’t allow the devil to use your children steal your joy.
   “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

2. JUDGE NOT
   The bible says, God is the judge of all the earth. Why do you want to usurp God’s authority? Judging others is you taking the place of God. If you do this, please stop it. You are doing disservice to God. You don’t know what people are going through. You don’t know why they are doing what they are doing. You do not know whether the order is from God. Job said, the things I did not know, I searched out. Stop judging people. Leave God with that and it shall be well with you. Mind your business and get busy with the divine assignment of raising your children in the fear of the Lord.
   “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:”

3. FORGIVE.
   Jesus said, if you don’t forgive, God will not forgive you. Unforgiveness is the nature of Satan. Jesus said, I have power also to forgive sin. It takes power to forgive. WEAK CHRISTIANS ALWAYS FIND IT DIFFICULT TO FORGIVE. Weak mothers also find it difficult to forgive. Ask God for power to be able to forgive people. Bitterness causes breakdowns instead of breakthroughs. Move out of that cloud. It is well with you. Forgive your child. Forgive your daughter and son in law. Forgive your husband. Forgive your mother in law and the other in laws. Forgive, Forgive and Forgive. That is the secret of a happy, healthy, hilarious and high class life.
